The Best of InfoComm

Every year in June, audio-visual professionals gather at InfoComm, the largest professional AV trade show in North America, featuring the latest technologies for audio, video, display, projection, lighting and staging, digital signage, conferencing, digital content creation, networking, and signal distribution. Representatives from Electronic Evolutions make a point of attending the event to advance their knowledge through  educational seminars and see first hand new technologies that fit the needs of our clients. Here’s the rundown for InfoComm2017.

Winners and More Winners from InfoComm2017

Let’s take a look at our favorite tech trends:

Huddle Up & Collaborate

As the landscape of today’s office continues to evolve and change, BYOD (Bring Your Own

FSR Huddle Vu

Device) and collaboration are the name of the game. The main conduit for the technology to support collaboration: huddle spaces. This year’s InfoComm was full of ideas for these spaces. One we were already familiar with: Biamp’s Devio product. Not new, but is a good solution for huddle spaces. We also liked the functionality of FSR’s Huddle Vu as well as their cool charging station Huddle Blox.

It was also great to see our go-to for wireless presentation on display at InfoComm 2017 — the Barco Clickshare that allows content sharing among a variety of devices.

Unique Video Display

Planar Clarity Matrix

There wasn’t much “run of the mill” when it came to video display at InfoComm 2017. From Planar Clarity Matrix with Extreme Narrow Bezel LCD displays (MX55HDX)(shown here in portrait mode on the wall). Adding the super-cool Leyard CarbonLight CLF Series LED flooring system pretty much ensured a show stopper.

Hitting the “functional AND cool” mark was Samsung’s Directional signage utilizing three 37-inch “stretch” displays and one 43-inch 16:9 display in a very visual example of using non-traditional aspect ratio displays for added “oomph.”

Way Cool: Flip Disk Display System

The Flip Disk Display System from Breakfast pretty much stopped us in our tracks. (See the video below!) TheFlip-Disc Display System is a kinetic screen that’s simple, modular, and customizable. And cool. Uses include multiple customer engagement possibilities like live social media, video, real-time data, brand interaction and gaming.
